Armaguard’s operational employees are in daily contact with significant amounts of currency as well as a myriad of potentially dangerous situations. To ensure the highest calibre of security and service for its clients and the general public, Armaguard intensively screens all new recruits to ensure their suitability for the role.

Armaguard’s well known brand, size and continued growth mean they recruit a large number of positions each year, attracting thousands of applicants.

Business Problem

Along with rigorous interviewing, background checks and medicals, Armaguard had been using a pen and paper psychometric tool, specifically looking at attitudes towards safety and honesty.  Armaguard places a high-level of importance on these attitudes when recruiting staff due to their strong link to minimising risks in the workplace.

While Armaguard were happy with the predictive validity and robustness of their existing tests, the fact that the tools were pen and paper-based posed a logistical challenge. Thousands of applicants were required to visit Armaguard offices each year to complete testing, which resulted in thousands of papers being manually scored and processed. This was an expensive and time consuming process.

Solution

Following an extensive pilot study, Armaguard adopted the Onetest Work Reliability Scale (OWRS) and the Onetest Work Safety Assessment (OWSA) to identify high risk applicants online, in order to streamline the recruitment process.
